In Greater Manchester, Duncan sits on the Gender Based Violence Board, the Justice and Rehabilitation Board, and serves as an independent member of the Police, Fire and Crime Panel.
His work in media includes consulting on storylines about male sexual violation for Hollyoaks, Coronation Street, EastEnders, Casualty and Pobol Y Cwm, and advising Netflix’s Baby Reindeer. His international work has led him to Iceland, USA, New Zealand, Germany, Vienna, Cambodia, Uganda and The Hague with the International Criminal Court.
Duncan received an OBE in 2020, a Medal of Honour in 2022, and holds honorary academic and alumni awards recognising his contribution to supporting male survivors.
In 2024, Duncan co-authored the article “Nobody believes you if you’re a bloke’: Barriers to disclosure and help-seeking for male forced-to-penetrate victims/survivors” in the International Review of Victimology; and co-authored the Greater Manchester Plan for Tackling GBV Against Men and Boys for the Deputy Mayor – the first plan of its kind in the UK.
In 2026, Duncan was named as one of the 100 Champions for Men and Boys in the UK 2026 by the Centre of Policy Research on Men and Boys in the Influential Index.
