Ellen Roome MBE is the founder of Jools’ Law and an international campaigner for children’s online safety. Following the death of her 14-year-old son, Jools, Ellen has worked tirelessly to change the law to ensure that when a child dies, their social media data is automatically preserved. She has succeeded, and this will become law within the Crime and Policing Bill when it gains Royal Assent. Her campaign has been recognised in Parliament and is helping to drive legislative change. Ellen is a regular media commentator and works with MPs and Peers, experts and families to push for safer digital environments for children. She was awarded an MBE for campaigning for services to children’s online safety.
