West Yorkshire Police will share their journey of innovative partnership working to identify and safeguard child victims. 
Working together with schools and children’s services they have evolved their unique approach to identifying child victims of online and physical abuse to identify and safeguard a significant number of children. Transitioning from national image sharing to an algorithm-assisted, system-driven review against dedicated datasets, this work has demonstrated proof of concept and established a foundation for the use of such technologies—under appropriate human oversight—in identifying and safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
Sarah, Paul and Dan will talk through the journey they have been through, the legal and ethical challenges they have faced and the success they have had on this journey that is continuing to revolutionise child identification and safeguarding opportunities.
