Sarah joined West Yorkshire Police in 2008 and spent time at Kirklees District, covering areas such as Batley, Dewsbury, Huddersfield and Holmfirth. She has worked across both uniform and detective roles across all ranks and a keen focus on safeguarding throughout her career. Sarah performed the role of Hostage and Crisis negotiator for the force CADRE, holding national accreditation for HCN and for Red Centre Kidnaps.
She moved to the Leeds district in 2022 as Safeguarding Detective Chief Inspector. Since August 2024, Sarah was posted as Detective Superintendent – Head of Crime and Safeguarding at Leeds District holding SIO PIP 3 accreditation for major crime.
