The Essex police media and communications team and POLIT have achieved a first for policing, by working with BT and EE to create a pioneering digital safeguarding campaign which features in EE stores, schools, and in the online space across the country. This workshop will discuss what is now widely recognised as one of the UK’s most forward-thinking prevention initiatives. It will explore how the partnership moved safety campaigning beyond traditional messaging and enforcement activity and used accessible and captivating digital methods to demonstrate the importance of early intervention, education and confidence building. This in turn is empowering children, families and professionals to recognise risk, make informed decisions and act before harm occurs.
